The South African talent went on to become Moto3 champion (2016) and Moto2 runner-up (2019). After these results, KTM pulled him into its factory team in MotoGP, and on his third start, he took his first MotoGP win for the stable. He also scored a triumph in 2021 but had a winless season last year. This year, he will be looking to return to the top tier while also holding his own against the more experienced and fast new teammate Miller.
